Spectacular Solar Eclipse Viewing in Halton Region: Live Coverage and Safety Tips

On Monday, April 8, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills will be treated to a celestial spectacle: a live solar eclipse from 2 to 4:30 p.m. This rare event promises stunning visuals, but safety is paramount. Without proper solar glasses, looking directly at the eclipse in Halton region is unsafe. However, you can experience the magic right here with us during the designated viewing hours.

As the moon momentarily obscures the sun, parts of the GTA, including Halton, will experience a captivating moment of partial darkness. This phenomenon, known as “totality,” will be visible from various vantage points, including Toronto, Burlington, Hamilton, St. Catharines, and Niagara.

Hanno Rein, an astrophysics associate professor at the University of Toronto Scarborough, highlighted the areas experiencing totality, emphasizing the excitement across Halton and beyond.
