Tonight on Closer Look, we revisit our latest podcast episode featuring Jane Wilcox, who is tirelessly working to secure her husband’s release after his arrest in the Dominican Republic on drug smuggling charges.
David Bennett, a Burlington, Ontario resident, was arrested while vacationing in Punta Cana. On March 7, he was set to board a flight home, but three weeks later, he remains stuck in a precarious situation. Despite claims from his family that the accusations against him are false, Bennett continues to face the grim reality of being detained overseas.
“We’re exploring every possible option to bring David home,” his wife, Jane Wilcox, shared on our Inside the Village podcast. “We’re leaving no stone unturned.”
For Wilcox, the ordeal has been nothing short of a nightmare. “It’s taken a huge toll on him, and on our family,” she added. “He’s physically strong, but mentally, this is draining for all of us.”
