Halton Regional Police are ramping up their efforts to locate Tom Shade, a 41-year-old man deemed dangerous, following an incident on Friday afternoon. The search began after police, investigating at a hotel near South Service Road and Walkers Line in Burlington, identified a vehicle linked to Shade. Despite attempts to apprehend him, Shade managed to evade arrest.During the pursuit, officers discovered a loaded firearm, drugs, and other discarded items, prompting Halton Police to issue a warning to the community through social media. The alert led to numerous calls from the public reporting possible sightings of Shade, sparking an extensive search operation involving patrol and tactical officers, as well as the K9 unit. However, Shade remains at large.In response to the situation, several schools in the area were temporarily placed on hold and secure, a measure that has since been lifted. As the search continues into the evening, police are maintaining a significant presence in southern Burlington, between Guelph Line and Walkers Line.Tom Shade is described as being 5’8” tall, with black hair, brown eyes, and distinctive tattoos of a marijuana leaf and dice on his right forearm. The Halton Regional Police are urging anyone with information on Shade’s whereabouts to come forward to assist in his capture.
