Four Arrested Following Public Complaints about Criminal Activity in Burlington

BURLINGTON – Responding to complaints from the public regarding criminal activity, the Burlington Police Department announced the arrest of four individuals after a house search.

In light of numerous tips concerning drug activity and quality-of-life issues in Brooks Street, West Front Street, and adjacent neighborhoods, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Saturday at 134 Brooks St., uncovering drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Kelvin Williams, 33, hailing from Greensboro, was apprehended due to an outstanding warrant for arrest from Guilford County on a misdemeanor charge of assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in custody with no bond allowed.

Tawanda James, 41, a resident of Burlington, faces charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is also being held without bond.

Keith Terry, 56, also from Burlington, was charged with maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has been released on a written promise to appear in court.

Thomas Delawrence Leath, 54, from Green Level, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and has also been released on a written promise to appear in court.
