Advance voting for the 2025 federal election is officially underway, coinciding with the Easter long weekend.
Polls opened on Friday, April 18, and will remain open through Monday, April 21, giving voters four full days to cast their ballots early.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (local time) each day

Where to vote: Your advance polling station is listed on your voter information card, or you can search your location on the Elections Canada website.
What You Need to Vote:
To vote at an advance poll, you must:

Be a Canadian citizen

Be 18 years or older on election day

Prove your identity and address
You have three options to verify your identity:
Option 1:

Provide one government-issued photo ID with your name and address (e.g., a driver’s licence).
Option 2:

Provide two pieces of ID, both with your name, and at least one with your address. Examples include:

Utility bill

Bank statement

Voter information card

Option 3:

No ID? You can sign a written declaration and have someone vouch for you.

The voucher must be someone who knows you and is registered at the same polling station.

They must show their own ID and can only vouch for one person, unless in a long-term care facility.

2. Vote by Mail

Apply online or at any Elections Canada office by Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m.

Once you apply to vote by mail, you cannot vote at advance polls or on election day

Election Day
Monday, April 28 is election day.

Polls will be open for 12 hours, depending on your time zone.
